Remember the girl who shared that hugot status about McDonald’s Valentine’s promos? (In case you missed it, you can read it here: McDonald’s Hugot: Woman Decries Higher Prices for Single People) Well, it turns out the post reached McDonald’s and they ended up giving Giselle Dela Cruz, the McDonald’s hugot queen, a surprise party on Valentine’s Day.
Here’s what Giselle had to say about it:
Okay, may aaminin ako.
‘Yun floral dress na suot ko kagabi, ang tagal nang naghihintay sa closet ko. Nabili ko ito mga 5 months ago pa, sabi ko sa 1st ever date ko susuotin (just in case biglang may dumating). And last night might not be the original romantic date I have in mind, but it was so much more.
Nakaabot sa Mcdo ang ‘Just One’ hugot status ko, and I’m so happy to say na friends kami! I got a call 2 days ago and last night, they threw me an appreciation party (for being witty and game) where I could bring my friends and family. I even got to know the amazing people behind Mcdo, and their advertising partner Leo Burnett.
Happy happy lang! Last week, nagsulat ako ng funny/bitter status na nai-repost at naging viral, hanggang sa nabansagan akong Hugot Queen. Puno man ng bitterness, I wanted people to smile and have a laugh about it and that’s how Mcdo felt too. Clearly unexpected, highly appreciated dahil super ang lakas maka-good vibes at nakakataba ng puso ang mga nangyari this week.
Ang gusto ko lang naman ay magsulat, it’s been my dream and this time, talagang ipu-push at itutuloy ko na po!
Turns out hugot posts can have their perks. :p What do you think of this story?
