It’s true: Carol Banawa’s hit song “Bakit ‘di Totohanin” was used in the supernatural TV show The Vampire Diaries.
The song was featured in the background of a scene showing Valerie Tulle (Elizabeth Blackmore) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley).

The news was announced by Banawa herself, who tweeted: “Please try to catch #TheVampireDiaries episode 716 this Friday, April 1 on CW. You just might hear one of my songs #grateful”
The episode was directed by Ian Somerhalder, who was in the Philippines in 2012 to endorse a local clothing brand.
Besides “Bakit ‘di Totohanin,” the episode also featured Jeck Pilpil & Peacepipe’s “Kulay Ng Kalayaan,” as confirmed by Chris Mollere, the show’s music supervisor, on Twitter.
The Vampire Diaries is set in the fictional small town of Mystic Falls, where mortal Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) falls in love with vampire Stefan and his older brother Damon. The pilot episode garnered the largest audience for any CW show, and maintained high viewership throughout its seven seasons. It was nominated for many awards, winning four People’s Choice Awards and numerous Teen Choice Awards.
