Many ’90s kids grew up with Pokémon, the anime and game that followed Ash Ketchum, an aspiring Pokémon master who must “catch ’em all.” By all, we mean Pokémon, or pocket monster, a kind of creature that has unique characteristics. And for ’90s gamers, the starter Pokémon in the game were Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander.
For those kids who are now adults, we have something cool to show you: one Imgur user recreated iconic Pokémons to Gundam mecha, another popular anime.
Khrisamisu took parts from existing model kits and repainted them for the mecha versions of Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard, the three starter Pokémons’ final evolution.
Khrisamisu dubbed the Venusaur mecha as PM-003 “Petunia,” and uses parts from the HG Dom R35. The number PM-003 is derived from Venusaur’s number in the Pokedex.
Blastoise is transformed to PM-009 “Sheldon,” and has parts from the Gusion mobile suit and extra MS Cannon 01.
Charizard, or PM-006 “Charlie,” has parts from the AEU Enact mecha.
