It’s confirmed!
Alden Ehrenreich will play a young Han Solo in an upcoming standalone “Star Wars” spin-off.
The 26-year-old actor will takeover the iconic role known to be played by Harrison Ford in the previous “Star Wars” films.
This confirmation was announced at Star Wars Celebration event in London.

Apparently, 3,000 actors from all over the world auditioned for this famous role. Alden was not only the final choice but actually was the first actor to audition.
On casting Solo: “The person who got the part was the first person to audition. Literally the first person who walked through the door.”

After six months of multiple screen tests, he got the role. Some screen tests even included being alongside Chewbacca.
“Star Wars: Episode VIII” will be on the big screen on December 15, 2017. The untitled Han Solo spin-off is slated on May 25, 2018.
