Viagra has been known as the wonder drug for years… now, there’s a “female viagra” or “pink viagra” drug that will be soon available on the market!!
The Food and Drug Administration in the US just approved the first-ever “pink viagra”, which is aimed to treating the lack of sexual desire in women! The generic name of “pink viagra” is flibanserin and will be known commercially as Addyi, according to reports.
This “female viagra” has apparently the potential to treat millions of women from hypoactive sexual desire disorder.
That’s a really, really, really low or nonexistent sex drive to us non-medical folk.
There are about 30 drugs available that treat different forms of sexual dysfunction in men, but none at all for women, so this is a huge step!
Of course, the pink pill doesn’t come without its set of safety measures: low blood pressure is at risk, which can lead to fainting especially when combined with alcohol. Doctors will also only be able to prescribe the pill after the patients have completed an online certification course that counsels them about the risks of Addyi.
No word if it’s coming to the Philippines anytime soon though. Still, it’s better late than never because women need some lovin’, too!
