The Philippines has been called the social media capital of the world but ironically, the country has one of the slowest, most expensive internet in southeast Asia. In a country where everyone is online, this poses somewhat of a problem.
Two days ago, on August 18, there was a senate hearing on slow PH internet speed. The senate turnout, however, was disappointing. According to a tweeted photo by Kiko Acero shared by Facebook user Vernon Go, only Senator Bam Aquino was present.
According to a survey by ASEAN DNA, the average ASEAN internet speed is 12.4 mbps and the PH lags at an average of 3.6 mbps.
What does this say about our senators?
