In order to make saving lives easier in the Metro, the Department of Health (DOH) decided to transform motorcycles into ambulances.

According to rappler.com, these motorcycles are equipped with defibrillator, oxygen tank, intubator kit, nebulizer, ECG machine, and emergency drugs needed for immediate first aid and minor surgeries.
Initially made for far-flung area, DOH saw that it can also be used in the urban setting since motorcycles can easily maneuver through traffic.
For now, one of the motorcycles will be given to the DOH’s Health Emergency Management Staff for emergency response in Metro Manila, while the other will be stationed in Marinduque – a pilot area of the DOH-MIMAROPA regional office.
Two other motorcycles will be ready before the end of 2015, and more will be available in 2016, according to the report.
