It’s the most wonderful time of the year once again!
In the spirit of Christmas, people and communities have already started putting up Christmas decors in their homes and the surroundings.
In Tarlac, it has become an annual tradition to put up Belens in different spots in the province in a friendly competition called “Belenismo sa Tarlac.”
The Belen is a traditional Filipino Christmas symbol that shows the nativity of Christ. It depicts the infant Jesus in the manger, surrounded by the Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, the shepherds, their flock, the Magi and some stable animals, and is surmounted by an angel, the Star or both.
Many establishments in Tarlac put up their own Belens to showcase creativity and display the Christmas spirit.
Here are three Belens that we’ve seen at the city center.
